Privacy Policy for Longevity
Welcome to Longevity. Your privacy and data security are our highest priorities. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
To provide you with a personalized coaching experience, we collect the following types of data:
- Account Information: Your name and email address. If you sign in with email and password, your password is stored securely by Supabase (we never see it in plaintext). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only your email and display name — we do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
- Health and Fitness Data: Information you voluntarily provide, including weight, height, age, physical goals, nutritional intake (macros), and workout logs.
- Conversational Data: Text inputs, check-ins, and feedback you share with our AI Coach regarding your physical state, energy levels, and general well-being.
- Apple Health Data (optional, iOS only): If — and only if — you explicitly connect Apple Health and grant permission through the HealthKit prompt, we collect daily activity metrics from Apple Health: steps, active and resting calories burned, walking/running distance, heart rate (average and resting), sleep duration, and workouts recorded outside the app. We never read Health data without your explicit HealthKit consent, and we do not write any data back to Apple Health.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
How we use it: Health data synced from Apple Health is used solely to power your in-app experience — your AI coach references your real daily activity (steps, calories, sleep) when personalizing coaching and workout recommendations, and your dashboard shows a daily activity summary.
Where it's stored: Synced Health metrics are stored as daily summaries in our secure cloud database (Supabase), associated with your account, using the same protections as the rest of your health and fitness data.
We never sell or share it: We do not use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, and we never sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose it to third parties, data brokers, or advertising platforms. Health data is never used to train AI models.
Disconnecting and deletion: You can disconnect Apple Health at any time from the Profile screen (which stops all future syncing), and revoke the app's read access in the iOS Health app under Sharing. To delete previously synced Health data, use "Delete Account and Data" in settings, or contactcontact@localwebsurgeon.com to request deletion of your Health data alone.
2. How We Use Artificial Intelligence
Longevity utilizes third-party artificial intelligence services (specifically Google Gemini) to process your chat inputs, nutritional data, and workout feedback. This processing allows us to provide dynamic, personalized fitness and nutritional insights.
Important Security Note: Your personal health data is securely transmitted for real-time processing but is strictly excluded from being used to train any foundational AI models. Your private check-ins will never be used to train public algorithms.
3. Sign-In Methods and Third-Party Authentication
Longevity offers three ways to sign in:
- Email and Password: Credentials are managed by Supabase Auth using industry-standard encryption.
- Google Sign-In: We use Google's OAuth 2.0 service. Google LLC processes your authentication under their ownPrivacy Policy. We receive only your email address and name. Your Google password is never shared with us.
- Apple Sign-In (iOS only): We use Apple's Sign In with Apple service. Apple Inc. processes your authentication under their ownPrivacy Policy. You may share a private relay email if you prefer not to disclose your real address.
If you previously used email and password and later sign in with Google or Apple using the same email address, your accounts are automatically linked. You retain all your data.
We record the date and version of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service that you accepted when you created your account. This record is stored in our secure database alongside your account.
4. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
We use secure, industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Supabase) to store your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal health data to third-party data brokers or marketing agencies.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
You maintain full ownership and control over your data. You may request the complete deletion of your account and all associated health data directly within the Longevity app settings at any time. Upon triggering the "Delete Account and Data" function, all personal data is permanently wiped from our active databases within 30 days.
